Oakland Newcomer May's #1 Rookie Monday, June 1st, 1998 One of the bright young starters in the United League, Jaret Wright is living up to the potential that Athletics scouts thought might be there. As a starter for Oakland, Wright paced his team with a 3-0 record in May to earn himself Rookie of the Month accolades. He made 6 starts, tossed 37 innings, struck out 33 batters and allowed the opposition to hit .157 against him. This year Wright has registered 3 wins and 2 losses in 11 starts with a 1.65 ERA while registering 54 strikeouts and 17 walks in 65.1 innings. |
