Thompson Snags FL Top Hurler Trophy Saturday, August 1st, 1998 Justin Thompson hasn't been around long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Federal League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In July the Kansas City starter earned a 5-0 mark in 6 starts. He threw 51.1 innings, struck out 53 and compiled a solid 1.58 ERA. This season in 22 starts Justin Thompson has a record of 14-4 with 164 strikeouts in 174 innings and a 2.74 ERA. |
