Young Shines in Gem
Monday, August 10th, 1998
Today was Matt Young's turn in the rotation for the Milwaukee Creams and he made the most of it, shutting out the Philadelphia Phillies on 4 hits.
The 40-year-old left-hander led the Creams to an easy 9-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 10 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Philadelphia manager Tigerr Wolfe said. "Young certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
In 23 starts this season Young has crafted a 10-9 record with a 3.75 ERA.
