Baltimore Out of Time, Out of Playoffs
Sunday, August 23rd, 1998
The Baltimore Orioles certainly didn't impress many fans this with their play on the field. And now there is no hope of turning a dismal season around -- the team was officially knocked out of playoff contention today.
The Orioles have missed the playoffs 15 times in their 22 years as a Doubleday Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1991. In the last 10 seasons, the Orioles have missed the playoffs 8 times.
