Martinez Pounds HR #300 Wednesday, April 1st, 1998 It was a historic day in the life of Edgar Martinez. The 35-year-old Las Vegas third baseman recorded the 300th homer of his career in the Angels 14-11 triumph over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the clubhouse after the game, Martinez told BNN, "I was just looking for a ball to drive, and I got one."
