Luke Raps 3 Homers Against Rainiers Saturday, April 18th, 1998 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Lazy Fisherman-Rainiers game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Naperville left fielder Matt Luke thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Naperville to a 7-6 win over Tacoma. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Luke said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Luke was 3-for-4 on the day with 5 RBI. Matt Luke walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Brian Rose in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Billy Brewer in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jeff Kubenka in the 9th. Luke is hitting .288 so far this season with 20 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 21 hits including 6 home runs, 10 walks and .373 OBP. |
