Bates Strokes 5 Hits

Jason Bates did a number on the Stag in the Tacoma 6-3 victory today, and the number was 5. The Rainiers second baseman banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Premont Grounds to lead his club past the Portland Stag.
"I felt good in the batter's box today," he said later. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."
Jason Bates singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Will Cunnane in the 10th.
This season Bates has 5 home runs and a .327 batting average.
