McCracken Stretches Hit String to 20 Thursday, May 14th, 1998 Quinton McCracken collected 1 hit in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. His club, the Hartford Whalers, beat the Asheville Moonshiners 6-3. "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," McCracken quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking." Quinton McCracken singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. For the season McCracken is currently batting .344 with 2 home runs and 16 RBIs. In 41 games he has reached base at a .392 rate and scored 39 runs to date. |
