Nied at His Best, Whips Moonshiners Tuesday, June 2nd, 1998 David Nied of the Savannah Swamp Foxes humiliated the Asheville Moonshiners at Paradise Grounds today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 7 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Asheville manager , after the game. Nied whiffed 6 and walked 0 in the 3-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Nied said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." In 13 starts this season Nied has gathered 7 wins while suffering 5 losses.
