Adams Gets Shutout
Sunday, June 21st, 1998
Willie E Adams of the Danville Dairy Daddies spun his magic on the Brooklyn Cyclones today. He blanked them 7-0 on 2 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Adams said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Danville skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Willie E pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
On his stats sheet for the year Adams shows a 5-4 record, 11 starts, 86 innings, 69 strikeouts and a 5.76 ERA.
