Wolcott Spins Shutout Against Buzz Sunday, June 28th, 1998 Bob Wolcott of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox spun his magic on the Salt Lake City Buzz today. He blanked them 7-0 on 1 hit, registering 9 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Wolcott said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Colorado Springs skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Bob pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. Up to now Wolcott has compiled an ERA of 5.04 with a 7-6 mark over 17 starts. He has 67 strikeouts in 109 innings and has held opponents to a .274 batting average. View Boxscore View Game Log |
