Nashville Starter Named PAC's Premier Pitcher Wednesday, July 1st, 1998 Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Pete J. Smith still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in June. The 32-year-old starter for Nashville was named Pacific Pitcher of the Month earlier today. He collected 5 wins and no losses with 28 strikeouts in his 6 starts, putting up a fine 2.80 ERA in 45 innings of work. Checking out his stats for the season, Smith has notched 11 wins and 6 losses in 20 starts, 3.76 ERA and struck out 90 batters in 124.1 innings. |
