Ledee 5-for-6 Against Rochester Friday, July 24th, 1998 Ricky Ledee was at the head of a Asheville hit parade today at Torrance Grounds. The left fielder went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Moonshiners to a 25-4 victory over the Rochester Red Wings. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Ledee told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Red Wings skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Ricky Ledee singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a sac fly in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. For the year Ledee is batting .340 with 119 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 78 times and driven in 52. View Boxscore View Game Log |
