Andrews Joins 3-HR Club Tuesday, March 31st, 1998 Shane Andrews of the Buzz went on a hitting spree at Alleycats Ballpark today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 10-8 loss to the Idaho Falls Chukars. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Andrews said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Salt Lake City third baseman did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Shane Andrews hit a three-run home run off Phil Leftwich in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Phil Leftwich in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Steve Falteisek in the 8th. |
