Combs Sensational for Blue Jays
|
Pitcher Pat Combs was sensational for the Toronto Blue Jays in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Baltimore Orioles. Combs received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The Orioles, at 20-69, have lost 6 in a row.
Combs's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Combs, who is tied for 5th in the UL with a 2.78 ERA, goes to 6-3 on the year with 80 strikeouts.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Toronto manager Jose Mata said.
