Late Rally by Phillies Secures Win
|
The Philadelphia Phillies scored a 4-3 win versus the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Philadelphia pitcher Chris Haney nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The last-place Red Sox have lost 7 straight games.
Gabe Kapler was a prime factor in the win for the Phillies. In the bottom of the eighth with one out, the 22-year old center fielder hit a 2-run home run. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
In postgame comments to the Philadelphia Observer, Kapler said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
