White Helps Marlins Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Florida Marlins stopped the Boston Red Sox, 8-1, behind an impressive performance from Rondell White. The former first round draft pick made life miserable for Boston pitching. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The losses continue to pile up for Boston, which has now fallen 12 times in a row.
John Valentin, who finished 4th in the FL in doubles with 40 in 1995, chipped in for Florida with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Florida manager Stephen Ginter.
