Daniels Shines in Twins Win
A 4-RBI performance from designated hitter Kal Daniels, who finished 3rd in the FL in stolen bases with 65 in 1994, led the Minnesota Twins to a 16-4 win over the Boston Red Sox. Jerry Spradlin, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities. The 5th-place Twins raised their record to 57-60.

The result might have been different for Minnesota, had it not been for Koji Akiyama. The left fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-1. For the game, Akiyama had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

In postgame comments to the Minnesota Daily, Akiyama said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
