6 Straight Wins for Knights
|
The Charlotte Knights picked up a win at Comiskey Park, knocking off the Milwaukee Creams, 8-3. On the mound for Charlotte was right-hander Scott Bankhead, who played a pivotal role in the win. Bankhead, now 18-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Charlotte has a 6-game win streak, while Milwaukee has lost 3 in a row.
In the bottom of the third, Charlotte right fielder Tim Salmon had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Salmon stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Charlotte. For the game, he was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Enjoyed this one," Salmon told the Charlotte Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
