The Jacksonville Suns downed the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 6-5, at Field of the Running Rebels. The Suns were led by Daryle Ward, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Tim Belcher was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 12 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Shayne Bennett recorded the save for Jacksonville, his 1st of the season.

Ryan McGuire had a big run-scoring single for the Suns in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Jacksonville leading 5-4 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Rafael Carmona and stroked the single to center. It was his 15th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Suns ahead, 6-4.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," McGuire told the Jacksonville Herald.

Losses have been few and far between for the Blue Crabs, who are now 9-4.
