Beasties Drop Swamp Foxes with Late Score
|
In a tight contest at Ravens Ballpark, the Bluff City Beasties edged the Savannah Swamp Foxes by the score of 7-6. Bluff City shortstop Alex Gonzalez, who blasted 2 home runs, was named the player of the game. The win lifts Bluff City to a record of 9-10.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Savannah hurler Ben Ford, Paul O'Neill, who is tied for 2nd in the ATL in bases on balls with 14, hit a 3-run home run. The Beasties went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bluff City manager .
