|
The Savannah Swamp Foxes went down to defeat to Eric Plunk and his Danville teammates. The final score was 5-1 in favor of the Dairy Daddies. The Dairy Daddies, now 16-7, have been on a roll in the early going.
Danville needed the clutch hitting of Paul Konerko to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Dairy Daddies on top, 3-0. For the game, Konerko had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Konerko said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
