The inspired effort of Ocean City catcher Einar Diaz was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the Asheville Moonshiners. Diaz was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Rafael Medina recorded the save for Asheville, his 1st of the season. Asheville is last in the Atlantic Southeast with a record of 14-22.

Asheville took a 5-4 lead on Ricky Ledee's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Ocean City pitcher Pep Harris in the bottom of the eighth.
