Moonshiners Bang Out 14-5 Win Versus Ocean City
The Asheville Moonshiners topped the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 14-5, with first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz playing a big role. Mientkiewicz was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Moonshiners in the win. Asheville reliever Juan Nieves was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Sean Maloney. Asheville is last in the Atlantic Southeast with a record of 15-22.

The Moonshiners beat the Blue Crabs with some clutch hitting. The double by Aaron Boone in the bottom of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Boone gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he came through with the big hit.
