Blue Crabs Slip Past Savannah, 9-8
|
In a tight contest at Fire Dogs Ballpark, the Ocean City Blue Crabs edged the Savannah Swamp Foxes by the score of 9-8. Ocean City second baseman Edwin Diaz, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The Blue Crabs bumped their record to 24-16 with this latest triumph.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Ocean City trailing 8-6, Ernie Young hit a fastball from Dustin Hermanson to center for a bases-clearing double. Just like that, the Blue Crabs had a walk-off win.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Ocean City skipper .
