Hrbek Goes Off, But Swamp Foxes Win
|
The Savannah Swamp Foxes had to overcome a big game from Ocean City designated hitter Kent Hrbek to leave Fire Dogs Ballpark with a 9-8 victory. Hrbek slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Savannah reliever Jin Ho Cho was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Sean Maloney took the loss for Ocean City. After today's action, Savannah sits at 19-22, while Ocean City falls to 24-17.
Savannah used the bat of Edgard Clemente to capture the win. The center fielder jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Swamp Foxes ahead, 8-5. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Clemente told the Savannah Daily.
