Otters Clip Suns in Tight Contest
|
Jacksonville catcher Lenny Webster had a good game, even if his team did not. The Suns dropped a 7-6 decision to Milwaukee at Stags Ballpark. Webster went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win was Mike Myers's in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Ricky Bones took the loss for Jacksonville. Todd Ritchie earned the save for Milwaukee, his 9th.
Tony Graffanino helped the Milwaukee cause in the bottom of the eighth. With a runner on 1st and Milwaukee trailing 6-5, he put the hurt on a fastball from Ricky Bones, launching it over the fence for a 2-run homer. The blast put the Otters in front, 7-6.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Graffanino told the Milwaukee Herald. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
Milwaukee is now riding a 3-game win streak.
