Whalers Beat Visiting Blue Crabs, 4-2
|
Hartford Whalers starter Bobby Chouinard was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Chouinard, now 4-1. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Chris Holt earned the save, his 4th, for the Whalers.
Flexing his muscles for Hartford was Robert Machado. The catcher had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second for the Whalers. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Machado was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Hartford manager .
The second-place Whalers now have a 4-game winning streak.
