8-5 Swamp Foxes Win over Suns Evens Season Record
|
Melvin Rosario helped his team muscle past the Jacksonville Suns, 8-5. In the game, the Savannah catcher went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Savannah reliever Scott Sullivan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Brian Edmondson shouldered the loss. Savannah goes to 33-33, Jacksonville to 32-34.
Rosario contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Savannah in the bottom of the seventh. With his team trailing 5-4, Rosario took a curveball from Brian Edmondson and stroked the home run to right-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Swamp Foxes to leap in front, 8-5.
"If it's down the middle," said Rosario, "you might as well hit it."
