Suns Beat Visiting Otters, 7-4
|
The Jacksonville Suns defeated the Milwaukee Otters, 7-4, in Atlantic action at Field of the Running Rebels, with Jacksonville right fielder Ozzie Timmons named player of the game. Jose DeLeon, the winner, improved to 8-4. He held the Otters to no earned runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Mark Dewey converted his 7th save in 10 tries.
In the bottom of the first, Timmons had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run home run off Odalis Perez that staked the Suns to a 2-0 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Timmons told the Jacksonville Herald.
The Suns raised their record to 36-37.
