Beasties Win at Brooklyn, 9-3
The Bluff City Beasties stopped the Brooklyn Cyclones, 9-3, behind an impressive performance from Brad Ausmus. The 29-year old catcher made life miserable for Brooklyn pitching. He was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. The winner was Bluff City reliever Jeff E. Gray, now 2-1. The loser was Manny Aybar. The 5th-place Cyclones have lost 5 consecutive games.

It could have been a different outcome for Bluff City, had it not been for Tom Evans, the 23-year old third baseman . Evans contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Bluff City up, 2-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Ausmus told the Bluff City Herald.
