Clippers Bang Out 13-4 Win Versus Bluff City
|
Benefiting from Wendell Magee's productive game, the Columbus Clippers downed the Bluff City Beasties, 13-4. Magee was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Clippers. Jason Jacome got credit for the win, improving to 7-9. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 8.1 innings. Columbus is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Columbus relied on the bat of Travis Lee to get the win. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Clippers ahead, 4-2. For the game, Lee had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Lee said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
