Beasties Get Close Win Over Whalers
A 3-RBI performance from shortstop P J Forbes led the Bluff City Beasties to a 10-7 win over the Hartford Whalers. The 5th-place Beasties have won 4 in a row.

Bluff City used the timely hitting of Keith Johns to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beasties on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Johns said. "We did a good job of that today."
