Tight Tilt Goes to Suns, 4-3
|
The Jacksonville Suns picked up a win at Fire Dogs Ballpark, knocking off the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jose DeLeon, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 7 innings, DeLeon surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Jacksonville has now won 3 straight, while the Blue Crabs have lost 3 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Jacksonville, had it not been for A J Hinch, the 24-year old catcher . Hinch contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Jacksonville up, 1-0.
Hinch told a Jacksonville Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
