Dairy Daddies Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Milwaukee
|
The Milwaukee Otters got a superb performance from second baseman Howard Battle, but the Danville Dairy Daddies still won the game, 6-4. Battle was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Pedro F. Borbon notched his 3rd save in 5 chances. Danville goes to 78-36. The win puts them 15 games up in their division.
The Dairy Daddies beat the Otters with some clutch hitting. The single by Edgar Renteria in the bottom of the fourth is a good example. With two down, Renteria gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he came through with the big hit.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Renteria said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
