Cyclones Need Extras to Top Suns
|
Ozzie Timmons did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Jacksonville Suns from losing, 7-6, to the Brooklyn Cyclones at Field of the Running Rebels. Timmons was 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win puts the Cyclones at 50-70, while the Suns drop to 58-62.
It could have been a different outcome for Brooklyn, had it not been for DaRond Stovall, the 25-year old left fielder . Stovall contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 11th inning to put Brooklyn up, 7-6.
In postgame comments, Stovall said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
