Omaha Storm Chasers starter Jim Parque pitched a strong game against the Portland Stag at Tuttle Fields, leading the Storm Chasers to a 4-3 win. The Stag fall to 7-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1998 season.

A decisive at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the batter, Dave Berg, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 4-3, Omaha, and helped them go on to win.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Portland manager . "The effort was great."
