The San Antonio Missions got a superb performance from pitcher Mark Portugal, but the Portland Stag still won the game, 3-2. Portugal was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Vic Darensbourg got the save, the 7th for him this season. Portland is now 12-14. San Antonio is 15-11.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Justin Baughman came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing San Antonio pitcher Mark Portugal, he hit a 1-0 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Portland on top, 3-2.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Baughman said.
