Brass Take Tight Tilt
|
New Orleans beat Tacoma at Premont Grounds, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Steve Cooke, who earned player of the game honors. Luis Aquino closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 2nd save. The Brass, at 18-11, lead by one game in their division.
It could have been a different outcome for New Orleans, had it not been for Jeremy Giambi, the 23-year old right fielder . Giambi contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put New Orleans up, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said New Orleans skipper . "I can't complain."
