River Rats Reel Off Another Win
|
The Spokane River Rats eked out a 5-4 win versus the Salt Lake City Buzz at Bella Vista Grounds. Nobody did more than designated hitter Kevin Millar, who captured player of the game honors. The winner was Brian Dubois, who threw 103 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. Mike Magnante earned the save for Spokane, his 7th of the year.
Spokane grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Millar, who is tied for 2nd in the PAC in bases on balls with 17, hit a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season put the River Rats out in front, 5-3.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Millar after the game.
The second-place River Rats have won 8 in a row.
