Salt Lake City Buzz starter Tyler Green pitched a strong game against the Portland Stag at Bella Vista Grounds, leading the Buzz to a 4-2 win. Salt Lake City reliever Greg McCarthy got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Roberto Ramirez was tagged with the loss. The third-place Buzz lifted their record to 18-15.
Going deep for Salt Lake City was Brian Johnson. The catcher had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning for the Buzz. It put his team ahead, 4-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Johnson went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Johnson.
