Tarantulas Win at Omaha, 5-2
|
Tucson Tarantulas starter Sean Bergman was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Bergman, now 3-4. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Keith Foulke earned the save for Tucson, his 10th.
In the top of the second, Pablo Martinez had a big 2-run double off Calvin Maduro. With the double, the Tucson shortstop put his team in front, 2-0. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the contest.
"We did a lot of things right," said Martinez.
Omaha has now lost 6 consecutive games.
