Storm Chasers Drop Another One
|
The Tucson Tarantulas saddled the Omaha Storm Chasers with a loss at Maples Stadium. The final score was 12-6. Dave Hollins, named player of the game, was 3 for 6, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Tucson first baseman scored 3 runs and drove in 2. James Baldwin got the win, improving to 3-5. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. The Storm Chasers have now dropped 7 straight.
The Tarantulas took the lead in the top of the fifth. With no one out, Darren Bragg hit a grand slam home run off Omaha pitcher Osvaldo Fernandez, putting Tucson in front, 7-4. For the game, Bragg was 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
Tarantulas manager wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
