Mets Come Back Late to Top Blue Jays
The New York Mets took Toronto pitcher Melido Perez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at SkyDome. The final score had New York getting past the Blue Jays, 4-3. Perez went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 10. The Mets, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.

It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Bret Boone, the 28-year old second baseman . Boone contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put New York up, 2-1.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Boone told the New York Gazette.
