Darryl Strawberry drove in 4 runs to help Colorado Springs defeat Portland, 12-3. The designated hitter had 1 double and 2 home runs for the Sky Sox. Bob Wolcott got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The win puts the Sky Sox at 25-28, while the Stag drop to 19-34.

In the top of the fourth, with Colorado Springs leading 5-0, Dmitri Young hit a cutter from Gary Haught for a grand slam home run, giving the Sky Sox the lead, 9-0.
