The San Antonio Missions blasted the Portland Stag, 15-2. Kelly Gruber was one of the hitting stars. He was 2-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6 for San Antonio . San Antonio is now 37-20, 2½ games up in the Pacific Central.

Gruber made an early impact for San Antonio when he stroked his 9th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Missions on top, 11-2.
