Close Win Moves Chukars to 32-40
Idaho Falls withstood an impressive performance by Portland first baseman Scott Stahoviak to defeat the Stag, 6-5, at Alleycats Ballpark. Stahoviak went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Neil Weber, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Jeff Schwarz notched his 14th save in 14 chances.

Ken R. Williams had a nice at-bat for the Chukars with one out in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the center fielder hit a sacrifice fly, which would prove important in the Idaho Falls win.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Williams told a Idaho Falls News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

Portland's current losing streak is now 5 games.
