Ventura Goes Wild, But River Rats Win
The Portland Stag got a superb performance from third baseman Robin Ventura. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Spokane. The River Rats won the game, 15-4. In spite of the loss, Ventura was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The first-place River Rats have won 6 in a row.

Spokane used the clutch hitting of Kevin Seitzer to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the River Rats the lead, 3-0. For the game, Seitzer had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager .
