Suzuki Dazzles in New York Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between New York and Toronto, pitcher Mac Suzuki was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for New York in the 1-0 win. Armando Benitez notched his 8th save in 8 chances. The Mets bumped their record to 76-60 with this latest triumph.
Suzuki earned the win, going 8 strong innings for New York. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Toronto hitters had little success against him.
"Mac was pounding the zone," said New York manager Michael Kritikos.
