Chamberlain Goes Wild, But Lazy Fisherman Win
Wes Chamberlain had a good game, but he could not keep the Portland Stag from falling, 8-7, to the Naperville Lazy Fisherman at Tuttle Fields. The Portland left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 in the loss. Masato Yoshii got the win, improving to 15-5. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Julio Machado earned his 1st save in 1 chances.

Chuck Carr in the top of the sixth had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and the Lazy Fisherman leading 5-4, the Naperville center fielder hit a run-scoring double.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Carr said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."

The Lazy Fisherman now have a mark of 63-49.
